The 2012 event was a great success, taking place in a dynamic creative and practical environment. See more.

The Kabul Innovation Lab 2013 will continue the success of the 2012 event.

Afghanistan continues to undergo a period of phenomenal growth in the field of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). With an ever-expanding ICT sector and accelerating development in mobile and digital data industries, opportunities are opening up for the application of new technologies in media, business and social enterprise. In this context, Internews is proud to present the second Innovation Lab in Kabul, bringing together Afghan technologists, journalists and entrepreneurs with a focus on the potential for the media to use digital and emerging technologies to reach new audiences, and to develop and distribute content using these technologies.

This event will begin with a public forum on the convergence of media and technology in Afghanistan.  Following the forum, there will be an intensive 3-day workshop that will seek to spark ideas in the area of technical and digital innovation. Internews, with the support of USAID will host the event to promote Afghanistan’s development in innovation and technical entrepreneurialism over the coming years.
